The Navigators Group, Inc.
The Navigators Group, Inc., publicly traded since 1986, is an international specialty insurance holding company. Headquartered in New York City, the Group consists of a number of wholly owned subsidiaries including Navigators Insurance Company, the Navigators Agencies, and operations at Lloyds of London.

The Group's revenue is primarily composed of premiums, commissions and investment income derived from the ownership of the subsidiary companies.

Navigators Agencies
Navigators has agency offices in the United States (New York, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Irvine, Miami, Seattle, and San Francisco) as well as in London, Manchester and Basingstoke, England and in Antwerp, Belgium. Navigators obtains its business from U.S. and international brokers.

Established in 1974, Navigators is one of the largest and most profitable ocean marine underwriters in the United States. The Navigators Agencies underwrite on behalf of Navigators Insurance Company and Navigators Specialty Insurance Company. 

In early 2005, Navigators announced the establishmnent of its first Continental European office, in Antwerp Belgium.  This office provides access to business not currently available in the London market and ensures a high level of customer service to our Continental Europe-based customers.  The primary classes of business written by the Antwerp office are transport liabilities, cargo and marine liabilities.

Navigators Insurance Company
The Navigators Insurance Company is rated A (Excellent), X by A.M. Best. The company, domiciled in New York, is licensed to underwrite insurance and reinsurance in 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In addition, the company operates a branch in the United Kingdom. Navigators Specialty Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Navigators Insurance Company, operates as a surplus lines insurer in 49 states and the District of Columbia. The insurance business and operations of Navigators Insurance Company are managed by Navigators Management Company, Inc.

Lloyd's of London Companies
The Group's wholly owned subsidiary, Navigators Underwriting Agency Limited, is a Lloyd's of London marine and D&O underwriting managing agency which manages Navigators Syndicate 1221 at Lloyd's. Millennium Underwriting Limited and Navigators Corporate Underwriters Limited are Lloyd's corporate members with limited liability. They are wholly owned subsidiaries of the Group and participate provide the capacity offered by Navigators Syndicate 1221, which has one of the larger specialist marine portfolios at Lloyd's.

In 1999, Navigators Underwriting Agency Limited formed Navigators Underwriting Ltd. which operates from Manchester and Basingstoke, England.  Navigators Underwriting Ltd. provides cargo and engineering insurance for clients in the broader UK market.
